Facility

Equine Services’ new facility, as part of Upper Rock Ranch, is conveniently located in the Southern Black Forest of Germany, a short drive from Switzerland or France – an easy trip for your stallion, mare and/or foal. Our full-service staff can assist you with all aspects of your travel arrangements from hotel accommodations to livestock transport.

Mare and Foal Center
Visiting mares and foals are housed in large, comfortable stalls. Daily exercising and individual turnout on either paddocks or pasture is available.

Stallion Center
Stallions are housed in airy stalls with attached paddocks. Pasture turnout may also be available for stallions.

Collection Shed
Our spacious collection shed (5m x 7m) is equipped with a safe, non-slip floor surface and wide double doors. The phantom is softly padded and surrounded on the floor with thick rubber mats for the security and comfort of your stallion. The stocks for the tease mare are also padded for the protection of both animals.

Laboratory
Equine Services is an approved EU laboratory, equipped with all of the state-of-the-art equipment necessary for conducting reproduction evaluations of mares and stallion, collecting, processing, shipping and storing equine semen, and mare management before, during and after pregnancy. The laboratory is designed to optimize the efficiency of our schooled staff and maintain the cleanliness standards set by the EU.

Palpation Shed
Like the collection shed, the palpation shed has a safe, non-slip floor surface and wide double doors. The stocks are specially designed to ensure the comfort and safety of your mare, as well as our technicians and veterinarian, during examination. The shed is additionally large enough to provide a safe, comfortable space for a mare’s foal when necessary.

Riding and Exercise Areas
Upper rock Ranch has several riding and exercise areas, including an indoor arena (18,5m x 38,5m) with sand/fabric footing, an outdoor arena (35m x 65m) with sand footing and a longeing paddock (25m x 25m), also with sand footing.

Pasture
Upper Rock Ranch is situated on nearly 20 ha, more than half of which is pasture. We have several large pastures and some small pastures for mares and foals and a few pastures for stallions. The pastures are fenced with double bar wooden fence and all have watering facilities for the horses. Most pastures have either a shed or trees to provide shelter for the horses.

Paddocks
Even in the wet and cold seasons, we can provide extended daily access to fresh air for your stallion, mare or foal on one of several paddocks, either located separately from the barns or connected directly to the stalls.
